Intech Awarded Contracts For Emergency Repairs On Two Kentucky Bridges

(News Release Courtesy of KYTC) FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2015) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded contracts for emergency repairs on two well-used bridges in central Kentucky – the historic “Singing Bridge” in downtown Frankfort and the Kennedy Mill Bridge on Lake Herrington, which carries KY 152 between Mercer and Garrard counties.

Intech Ranked in ENR Top Specialty Contractors Lists

Intech has earned a spot in Engineering News Record's annual Top 600 Specialty Contractors list. Published annually, the list ranks specialty contractors nationwide according to the previous year's revenue.

For the 2015 edition, Intech ranked:

  • #386 overall
  • #13 in painting

Intech Awarded Crescent City Connection (GNO2) Bridge Painting Contract

Intech has been awarded a $17.7 million contract by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for painting and repair work on the US 90 Eastbound Crescent City Connection (GNO 2) Bridge. Opened in 1988, the bridge is one of the longest cantilever bridges in the world, along with it's older Westbound twin. It is the closest highway crossing to the mouth of the Mississippi River and carries four lanes of US 90 traffic as well as two alternating-direction HOV lanes.

Green River Project Highlighted by Seattle Area Media Outlets

Intech's ongoing project to paint the SR 18 Green River (Neeley) Bridge in Auburn, WA has been highlighted by Seattle area media outlets and the Washington State DOT

University of Kentucky College of Engineering Dedicates David & Margaret Houchin Intech Contracting Construction Management Lab

Inside the Houchin Construction Management Lab

On Thursday, June 25, 2015, the University of Kentucky College of Engineering dedicated the David & Margaret Houchin Intech Contracting Construction Management Lab along with three other teaching and laboratory spaces. The spaces will be used by the college’s Department of Civil Engineering.

“Outstanding facilities breed creativity and collaboration,” said John Walz, dean of the UK College of Engineering. “They are critical for attracting the best faculty and students to our program, as well as allowing our faculty, staff and students to achieve their fullest potential.”

Intech Awarded Green River Bridge Painting Project

Intech has been awarded a $1.5 Million contract by the Washington State Department of Transportation to paint the Neeley Bridge over the Green River near Auburn, WA. Work is scheduled to begin in late Spring of 2015.

Intech Awarded Wind River Bridge Painting Project

Intech has been awarded a $4.8 Million contract by the Skamania County, WA Department of Public Works to paint two bridges over the Wind River near Carson, WA. The largest of the two, the Conrad Lundy Bridge, is a 600-foot-long deck truss bridge over the river gorge with a 250-foot center tower and was built in 1957. The smaller bridge, the Moore Bridge, is located entirely within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, north of the Lundy Bridge. Work is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2015.
